Role description

Reporting to the General Manager – Planning & Compliance, the Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for;
 

  • Managing the Kicks Projects procurement process including the constant improvement of governance and risk management processes
  • Leading the Kicks Operational team to achieve the procurement outcomes including coaching the Festival Operations Manager, driving a positive team culture and ensuring a collaborative team environment
  • Developing the infrastructure requirement database and strategy including liaising with all event departments to ensure plan lists are comprehensive and fit for purpose and ensuring internal ordering systems are set up for success to ensure simplicity of process and accuracy of information
  • Coordinating all departments and stakeholders to develop a detailed logistical operational schedule for each Kicks Project for successful implementation of all infrastructure
  • Managing the event’s operational budget using provided procurement, purchasing system tools to ensure the operational and financial success of the events
  • Briefing, negotiating and engaging suppliers and service providers based on budgeted needs with the support of the Festival Operations Manager and ensure all budgeted expenses are approved through company processes
  • In collaboration with the Festival Operations Manager, developing the event’s operational site plans and infrastructure requirement database and strategy including liaising with all event departments to ensure plan lists are comprehensive and fit for purpose and ensuring internal ordering systems are set up for success to ensure simplicity of process and accuracy of information
  • Executing a detailed audit of all services and suppliers against invoice for all Kicks Project Events
  • Managing and leading the execution of site plan delivery, including all requirements with regulatory and legislative requirements for the relevant industry

You will bring the following to the role:

  • 5+ years as an Event Operations Manager
  • Experienced with Infrastructure auditing, ideally for medium to large scale events
  • Proven experience managing budgets, auditing and delivering end to end event operations
  • Proven experience building event planning documentation and delivering stakeholder consultation
  • Significant Site Operations leadership experience with large scale events
  • Excellent project management skillset and understanding of the application to large-scale music events
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and develop relationships with suppliers
  • Skills in negotiating with suppliers and managing relationships
  • Experienced in excel and financial tools
  • A solid knowledge of the Australian major events landscape
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly under pressure
  • Exceptional oral and written communication
  • High level of adaptability to get the job done
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high-standard of work
  • A passion for working in the music and/or events industry and an understanding of the unique hours required around events launches and delivery
  • Vectorworks or CAD experience a preference

Qualifications

  • White Card
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management a preference
  • Risk Management Certificate a preference
